Many caregiving clients need medical care that goes beyond the typical responsibilities of a caregiver. Nurses can’t always be around, so they delegate some of these tasks to caregivers who are specially certified for these tasks.

What is Nurse Delegation

Nursing Delegation

Nurse Delegation is a service where a registered nurse trains caregivers how to complete specific nursing tasks that could otherwise be only performed by nurses. (It is is a State of Washington law that allows caregivers to provide care that would normally be provided by a licensed nurse).

We at Angelica Nurse Delegators offer nurse delegation services to caregivers taking care of the the aging and developmentally disabled population in the community and in health care settings.

What are some commonly delegated tasks?

Administration of oral medication

Administration of topical medication

Eye drops

Ear drops

Rectal medication administration

Blood glucose monitoring

Insulin administration

Nebulizer treatments

Can any task be delegated?

No, These tasks are not eligible for delegation:

Sterile procedures

Central line maintenance

Administration of medications by injections (except insulin)

Any acts that require nursing judgement are not delegated.

We serve Adult Family Homes, Assisted Living facilities and even nursing homes.

Costs

Medicaid clients

We bill these clients directly to Medicaid

Private pay clients

Initial/Annual Assessment $400.

Reassessment $250.

Initial delegation $250.

90 day visit -Required $150.

PRN visits $75.

Diabetes blood glucose testing, monitoring and insulin administration -4 visits $450
